Yuletide: Anambra Govt Secures Markets

Anambra state government has put measures in place to ensure adequate security in all markets across the state both during and after Christmas celebration.

The Commissioner for Trade and Commerce, Chief Uchenna Okafor announced this at the Bride Head market Onitsha, during the end of the year special prayer session.

Blessing Ijedibia, who was at the prayer session reports that all stores remained close for six hours as the prayer lasted.

According to the Commissioner Okafor, state ranks first in security of lives and property stressing that the tempo of tight security will always be maintained.

The Commissioner while appreciating the traders for their support for Governor Willie Obiano led administration said traders in the state now have the right to pray as often as they wish calling for peace and understanding among all the affiliate trade unions in the market.

Earlier in his homily, the Bishop of Amichi Diocese, Right Reverend Ephraim Ikeakor emphasized that it is only God that can show mercy and blesses whom he wishes to bless.

Bishop Ikeakor cautions against false prophets warning Christians on the dangers inherent in running from pillar to post in search of miracles.

While commending the trader’s for seeking the face of God, Bishop Ikeakor called for total repentance as God frowns at iniquity noting that obedience and fait are keys to miracles

The President General, Bridge Head Traders Association, Chief Sunday Obinze, thanked the state government for giving trader’s sense of belonging assuring that Bridge Head market will compliment state government efforts in securing the market.
The prayer session featured praise and worship session.
