Son-in-law to a former governor of Imo state, Uche Nwosu, has debunked the news making rounds in the state that he had gone back to the supreme court to urge the apex court to declare him the rightful winner of the state’s governorship election.

Nwosu, was disqualified by the apex court on December 20, 2019, on the ground of double nominations by Action Alliance and All Progressives Congress, respectively.

Speculations are rift in the state that since the supreme court said that Nwosu who is senator Rochas Okorocha’s son-in-law was nominated by APC he was the rightful beneficiary of the supreme court judgment declaring senator Hope Uzodinma, as the duly elected governor of the state.

But Nwosu on Friday said that he would never go back to the apex court to challenge the declaration of Uzodinma as the new governor of the state.

Nwosu, accused those he described as mischief makers as being behind the news that he had approached the apex court seeking to be declared the rightful governor of the state on the ground that he was the lawful governorship candidate of the APC at the last governorship election in the state.

He said that he had pledged his 100 percent support to the new governor and would not go back on his words.

Nwosu said “my attention has been drawn to a fake news making the rounds on the internet, that I, Ugwumba Uche Nwosu, has approached the Supreme Court, asking to be declared the governor of Imo State.

“This fake news was obviously planted by mischievous elements who are discomfited by the new found spirit of love, reconciliation and peace in our Party and the State.
