Breaking News: Nkwo Nnewi Electrical Parts On Fire (Photos)

Popular Multi-Billion Naira Nkwo Nnewi Electrical Parts Market located at Ebenator-Uruagu in Nnewi was, last night, February 6th, 2020 gutted by fire. The fire was said to have started by 9:30 pm as the source of the fire incident is still not known.
Hundreds of shop owners trooped out late midnight on Thursday to help quench the fire before the fire service truck from Anambra State Government came to put an end to the fire incident.

Anaedoonline In a telephone interview with the Head of Fire Service in Anambra State, Engr Martin Agility said his men responded to action immediately the service got information about the incident by sending a fire truck from Nnewi to help put off the fire before a backup fire truck was sent from Awka.

Anaedoonline observed that the first fire truck did not have enough water and couldn’t do much in helping to tackle the fire incident before a backup fire truck was brought to complement the effort of the first one.

This recent fire incident is one too many that has happened recently in Anambra State. Just last month of January, the Mgbuka Obosi Spare Parts Market in Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra State was gutted by fire.
The Governor of Anambra State, Chief Willie Obiano in his effort to tackle fire incidents in Anambra has donated 40 vehicles to the Anambra State Fire Service and Anambra Vigilance Group (AVG).
While handing over the vehicles, the Governor directed the Fire Service and Vigilance Group to ensure that the vehicles would be used effectively for the patrol of communities and prompt response to emergencies in order to ensure the safety and security of Ndi Anambra.

By the gesture, the Governor said he had fulfilled his promise to equip the State Fire Service with12 new fire trucks as well as ongoing employment of personnel for service.

As at the time(12:52 am Friday, 7th February 2020) of writing this, the fire is still on as there is a shortage of water to tackle it.
