Olisa Metuh: Nigerians React As Metuh Gets 7-Year Jail Term

Nigerians have set their sights on a former National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki, after a former spokesman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Olisa Metuh, was jailed on Tuesday for seven years for money laundering.

Mr Metuh was convicted on all the seven counts, including the fraudulent receipt of N400 million from Dasuki in November 2014 and use of the money for political activities of the PDP and for his personal purposes.

He was also convicted for transacting with the sum of $2 million cash without going through a financial institution.

Earlier, a Federal High Court in Abuja sentenced the former spokesman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Olisa Metuh, to seven years in prison for money laundering.

Justice Okon Abang handed down the sentence on Tuesday in his judgement on seven counts of money laundering and criminal diversion of funds to the tune of N400 million.

The charges were filed against the former PDP spokesperson and his company, Destra investment, by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

The trial judge sentenced Metuh after convicting him and found him guilty of all the charges brought against him by the anti-graft agency.

Nigerians on Twitter have begun anticipating the fate of Dasuki who is on bail in a separate trial.
