The first female Rector of the Federal Polytechnic Oko, in Anambra State, Dr Francisca Nwafulugo, has warned the new students to desist from those acts prohibited in the institution to avoid trouble.

The Rector, while addressing the new intakes during the 36th Matriculation of the institution at the weekend, reminded them Oko Federal Polytechnic was no dumping ground.

Other riot acts from Nwafulugo to the students included that the institution was not a place to shift the troubles or crisis in the homes.

“It is not a place to join cult groups or get entangled with other nefarious activities, the Polytechnic had zero tolerance for cultism ”

“It is not a place to cheat in examinations or exhibit evil vices, if you are caught in exams malpractice, you will be expelled from the institution ” she warned.

Moreover, Nwafulugo maintained that the institution had no room to tolerate indecent dressing, stealing, fighting, adding that it was not a place to show utter disrespect for constituted authority

However, she reminded the parents and guardians that the journey had just begun, adding that many of the new students were still elastically impressionable.

“You must not leave them at the mercy of peer influence. This is a time of continuous guidance and prayers for your children and wards ”

Nwafulugo said she had a dream for the School which according to her, was to make OKO federal Polytechnic the number one institution in the country, adding that with the help from everyone, the dream would be achieved.
