Coronavirus Task Force Arrests Pastor, Shuts Sunday Services [VIDEO]

The Coronavirus task force have arrested a pastor in Ogun state and have shut services over non-compliance with the ban on public gathering of more than 50 persons in the state.

The enforcement took place on Sunday as the nation stepped up efforts to contain the spread of coronavirus. The Ogun State government posted on its twitter account @OGSGofficial.

Officers of the coronavirus task force began patrol by 5:00am to monitor compliance with the directive of the State governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun.

Abiodun had last week placed a ban on large gatherings of more than 50 people.

The spokesman of Lagos Police Command, Bala Elkana said, “We had to shut down a few services today as some pastors have not complied with the order.”

“We cannot allow the virus to spread beyond the level that the health facilities can handle. We will continue to enforce the ban until we have full compliance,” he added.

The number of cases in Nigeria had on Sunday increased to 30.

The State Government had earlier in the week banned gathering of more than 50 persons and as well shut down private and public schools.
