Covid-19: Igwe Nnewi Urges All To Stick To Govt Regulations

As part of efforts aimed at curtailing the continued spread of the pandemic Coronavirus the Grand Patron Of Anambra State Council Of Traditional Rulers and the Igwe Of Nnewi Dr Kenneth Orizu III, CON, has restricted visitors and the referral of cases to the Palace Arbitration Panel for determination except on extreme emergencies.

According to a statement from the palace signed by Prince Obi Orizu there is also the restriction on visitors and suspension of the sittings of the Palace Arbitration Panels and the General suspension of usual meetings and all occasions involving more than 30 people at the Palace.

Igwe Orizu the III urged Nigerians to adhere strictly to all safety procedures as ordered by the Center for Disease Conte (CDC), federal and state governments called for prayers for the eradication of the scourge and the quick recovery of all those already suffering from the virus.

Igwe Orizu the III  further advised Nigerians to stick to all the advisory including self isolation and social distancing, including the regular washing of the hands with soap and disinfecting the hands with sanitizers as announced by the CDC and the Federal Ministry Of Health just as he subsequently cancelled all social gatherings including traditional marriages and burials in the commercial city of Nnewi noting that all visits to the palace and social and religious gatherings would resume as soon as the pandemic is curtailed.

He commended the efforts of the federal and state governments in their efforts to curtail the virus while commiserating with those suffering from the deadly virus praying that God would bring the disease to end soonest by providing a cure.

Presently, two new cases of Covid-19 have been confirmed in Nigeria. One each in Lagos and in Osun states.

The Nigeria Center for Disease Control (NCDC), said in a twist on Wednesday morning, that both cases are returning travellers to Nigeria in the last seven days.

It said that, as at the morning of 25th March, there were 46 confirmed cases of Covid-19 in Nigeria. Out if the number, there are 43 active cases, two have been discharged with one death recorded so far recorded.

Anaedoonline reported that the Anambra State Governor Willie Obiano on Monday ordered the closure of schools and public offices in the state following the continued spread of the Coronavirus in the country.
