Augustine Ikeh Expelled As Nzuko-Ora Nnewi Publicity Secretary

The Publicity Secretary of Nzuko-Ora Nnewi Sir Augustine Ikeh has been expelled as a member of Nzuko-Ora Nnewi Executive.

Augustine Ikeh was expelled today, Monday, 6th April 2020, after a meeting of Nnewi Stakeholders at Igwe Nnewi Palace.

Speaking on the removal, the Vice President of Nzuko-Ora Nnewi, Sir. Fabian Obi said that Sir Augustine Ikeh was removed following his insubordination and nonchalant attitude.

Speaking further, he said, “It is very unfortunate and regrettable that Augustine Ikeh instead of facing his legitimate duties attached to his office as the Publicity of Nnewi, deviated and engaged in acts capable of bringing crisis and divisions into Nzuko-Ora Nnewi, which also brings the town union into a bad light.

According to him, the recent publication of Augustine Ikeh, on the state government fight against Coronavirus and his attacks on the Commissioner of Information is a misguided attempt to portray Nzuko-Ora Nnewi as an enemy of the government.

He said that numerous actions of Augustine Ikeh including his attacks on Nzuko-Ora Nnewi Executives, Igwe Nnewi Palace, and many Nnewi Stakeholders are not in consonance with the provision of the constitution of Nzuko-Ora Nnewi which Augustine Ikeh swore to protect and accord with integrity.

Reacting also, the President-General of Nzuko-Ora Nnewi, Chief Sir Ugochukwu Udemezue (Ifeneti) said that the sacking of Sir Augustine Ikeh was necessary following his refusal to retract a publication credited to him as the Publicity Secretary of Nnewi in which he described the Anambra State Commissioner of Information and Public Enlightenment, Mr. C. Don Adinuba as a disgrace and condemned the state government efforts in containing Coronavirus.

He said that the refusal of Augustine Ikeh to refute the publication is a clear indication that he supported the publication credited to him as Nzuko-Ora Nnewi Publicity Secretary.

Speaking further, he said that the stakeholder’s meeting resolved to expel him from Nzuko-Ora Nnewi executive and ordered him to return all Nzuko-Ora Nnewi properties under his control.

The Meeting which was presided by Igwe Nnewi, His Royal Highness, Igwe Dr. Kenneth Onyeneke Orizu (111), was attended by Obi Uruagu Nnewi, Obi Afam Charles Obi (Ogidi IV), Obi Umudim Nnewi, Obi Benneth Okafor (Amaukwu), Obi Nnewichi, Obi George A. Onyekaba (Obidiugwu) and Members of the Igwe Nnewi Royal Cabinet.
