Prime Minister of the United Kingdom Boris Johnson has been taken out of intensive care unit to the hospital ward.

Downing Street disclosed that his health had improved and he would be monitored closely.

“From intensive care back to the ward, where he will receive close monitoring during the early phase of his recovery,” the statement added.

Recall that Boris Johnson had contracted the virus, and had to isolate himself before being admitted at the St Thomas’ Hospital in London after showing signs of deteriorating health.

But a UK spokesman added that “He is in extremely good spirits.”

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson was moved to intensive care after his coronavirus symptoms worsened on Monday. This was disclosed in a statement issued by the UK government on Monday.

The statement said Foreign Secretary, Dominic Raab, will temporarily take over Johnsons’s duties while the UK PM is in admission.

However, the British Prime Minister has tested positive for coronavirus. Johnson, who is said to have mild symptoms of the virus, will be isolating himself in Downing Street.

According to the BBC, the prime minister has mild symptoms and will self-isolate in Downing Street.

“He was tested for coronavirus on the personal advice of England’s chief medical officer, Professor Chris Whitty,” a statement said. He will still be in charge of the government’s handling of the crisis, the statement added.
