‘I Never Tested Positive To COVID-19’ – Ahmed Musa Clarifies

Super Eagles winger, Ahmed Musa, has debunked reports claiming that he tested positive to COVID-19.

Musa took to his Twitter page on Wednesday night, to explain that he and his family were self-isolating, after flying in from Saudi Arabia.

He wrote: “Please ignore any false news about me or my family testing positive to Covid 19.

“We are self isolating for 14 days as we just got in from Saudi Arabia as the law stipulates. Stay safe! Maintain social distance. AVOID FAKE NEWS!”

Musa currently plays his club football for Al Nassr in Saudi Arabia.

Anaedoonline.com reported that the Nigeria Centre For Disease Control(NCDC) has disclosed that it was unable to know how 203 of the Covid -19 patients in the country contracted the disease.

The Centre disclosed this in its situation report for 21st of April, 2020, published on Wednesday.

Recall that on Tuesday the NCDC announced 117 new cases of COVID-19 in Nigeria, bringing the total number of confirmed infections in the country to 782.

According to the report, 544 (70 %) of the total figure are males while 238 (30 %) are females.

A further breakdown showed that people within age bracket 31-40 constituted 20% of the total number of cases.

The report also shows that 8,934 samples had been tested in 24 states and the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.

“The report read, “travel history – 210 (27 percent); contacts – 274 (35 percent); unknown source – 203 (26 percent) and incomplete – 95 (12 percent).”

Anaedoonline.com reported that Persons with acute respiratory symptoms in certain communities in Lagos and Abuja will be contacted directly by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), which begins door-to-door collection of samples.

This will help to overcome the bottlenecks in the testing capacity for coronavirus (COVID-19) as samples will be collected from the right persons and getting it into the labs for testing.
