Super Eagles midfielder, Ogenyi Eddy Onazi, has described former team mate, John Obi Mikel as one of those who influenced his performance positively.
Onazi said partnering with former captain Mikel John Obi in the midfield has brought out the best in him, AOIFootball.com reports.

Onazi, who recently returned to full action after a long term injury that has made him unavailable for selection for the National team since 2019, made this assertion while speaking on the Super Eagles live Instagram session put together by the media team.
“I will say my pairing with Mikel Obi was the best for me. I enjoyed playing alongside him and there is this confidence I had back then and had nothing to worry about,” Onazi said.
The former Lazio man, who recently moved to Turkish top-flight side Denizlispor, further stated that he is looking forward to making a full return to the team, noting however that the competition present in the Super Eagles team would make it more interesting.
The former super eagles captain made a name for himself at Stamford Bridge where he spent 11 years and his ball-winning skills stood out, helping the Blues to win a number of laurels including the Champions League and the Premier League.
Ndidi played along with Mikel for four years in the Super Eagles before the 32-year-old retired from international duty after the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations, where Nigeria finished third and has spoken highly of his former captain.
