Coronavirus: See The Number Of Isolation Centres In Nigeria

Nigeria, the most populous black nation in the world and seventh most populous country in the world is facing the challenge of pandemic, Coronavirus, which has affected almost every country in the world. The country have announced 3912 cases, 679 discharged and 117 deaths.

The Director, hospital services, National Council on Health, Adebimpe Adebiyi, disclosed this while discussing the management of Coronavirus and the situation of isolation centres in Nigeria on radio Nigeria on Saturday.

She stated that 100 isolation centres had been identified in various states across the country.

According to her, the federal ministry of health and the National Council on Health (NCH) have an accreditation protocol for isolation and treatment centres.

She however, said the protocol by the ministry specifies what should be in every isolation centre.

”NCH has approved that accreditation should be decentralized to states”

As at Friday, Lagos has a total of 9 isolation centres including Gbagada Hospital with a bed capacity of 118, Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH) – 60, Infectious Disease Hospital, Yaba -115, Onikan Stadium Centre – 100, Landmark Centre- 70, Lekki Centre- 45, Agidingbi Centre – 34, and First Cardiology Hospital with a capacity of 5 for only Critical cases.

Abuja, on the other hand, has five isolation centres including Asokoro General hospital, University of Abuja teaching hospital, Idu Isolation Centre, Dome, and General Hospital Karu.
