Just In: NCDC Confirms 248 New Cases Of Coronavirus, Toll Now 4,339

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Sunday evening, confirmed 248 new cases of coronavirus in Nigeria.

This brings the total number of cases in the country to 4399.

According to the breakdown by NCDC according to the states, 81-Lagos, 35-Jigawa, 26-Borno, 26-Kano, 20-Bauchi, 13-FCT, 12-Edo, 10-Sokoto, 7-Zamfara, 4-Kwara, 4-Kebbi, 2-Gombe, 2-Taraba, 2-Ogun, 2-Ekiti, 1-Osun, 1-Bayelsa.

The NCDC figures also confirmed 778 persons have been discharged while 143 deaths have been recorded.

A 44-year old Bruce Franklin has been arrested after he confessed to killing his wife and eating her flesh while he was stuck with her in an elevator.

According to the Philadelphia Police Department, the partially devoured corpse of his wife was lying next to him when he was rescued after being stuck for three days in an elevator.

Mr Franklin immediately confessed that he had reluctantly killed her and eaten almost 12 lbs of her flesh, saying it was necessary to his survival.

Commissioner Ross says the accused started crying as soon as he was freed from the elevator and kept repeating “Why did I do it?”

Mr Franklin and his wife, Janet Willis, were coming back from the restaurant when they took an express elevator to reach their apartment on the 42nd floor.

On their way up, the elevator unexpectedly stopped, and the couple was stranded.

Mr Franklin says he hit the alarm and waited, but nothing happened. He investigated his surroundings, but there was no warning text and no elevator emergency phone in the 6-by-6 box.
