Coronavirus: Buhari Orders Importation Of Madagascar Drug

President Buhari has reportedly ordered the importation of the alleged coronavirus liquid drug by Madagascar to Nigeria.

According to reports, this was made known by, Chairman of the Presidential Task Force on coronavirus and Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha. He said;

“Madagascar has made allocations to various countries, and sent them to Guinea Bissau. We‘re supposed to make arrangements to freight Nigeria’s allocation from Guinea Bissau; it‘ll be subjected to the standard validation process for pharmaceuticals.

“Mr President has given instructions for the airlifting of Nigeria’s allocation of the Madagascar coronavirus Syrup; also given clear instructions that it must be subjected to the standard validation process for pharmaceuticals; there will be no exceptions for this.”

Equatorial Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Niger, and Tanzania have already taken delivery of consignments of the coronavirus remedy, which was launched last month.

Madagascar said the drink is derived from artemisia – a plant with proven anti-malarial properties – and other indigenous herbs.

The Republic of Madagascar has offered its herbal drug – COVID Organics (COV) – to Nigeria and other African countries for prevention and cure of Coronavirus.

Nigeria’s consignment has been sent to Equatorial Guinea from where it will be airlifted to Abuja.

For ease of transportation, African countries were divided into zones leading to the freighting of Nigeria’s consignments to Equatorial Guinea.

Nigeria’s coronavirus positive tally moved to 4,399 last night with 248 new cases announced by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).
