Covid-19: Young Nnewi Fabricator Produces Automated Hand Washing Machine (Photos)

To contain the spread of coronavirus, Izuchukwu Nkwogbo, a young fabricator based in Nnewi, Anambra State, has produced a pedal-operated hand washing machine.

Speaking to Anaedoonline.com, the young fabricator said that he produced the automated hand washing machine in other to curb the risk of contamination from public handwashing facilities, he said that most tap bucket currently used for washing will further help in spreading the virus.

 

He said, “If you look clearly at the tap bucket being used, you need to open the tap with your hand for the water to rush out, you also need to use the same hand you washed, to close the already contaminated water tap, meaning that your hand remains contaminated”

According to him, in a bid to provide a solution, he fabricated an automated hand-washing machine that dispensed water and liquid soap, to protect the unsuspecting public users from contracting coronavirus.

Explaining how the hand-washing machine works, he said, “The machine is very easy to operate, when you use your leg to press on the left pedal, the soap rushes out, when you also use your leg to press on the right pedal, the water rushes out for thorough hand washing, at each point, once your leg is raised, it stops flowing.

He said that after his first production late March, an anonymous donor from India ordered for the production of the automated handwashing machines for his Community, Nawgu Community, in Dunukofia LGA of Anambra State, for onward distribution in churches, schools and markets.

While urging the government to adopt the pedal-operated machine for use in schools, markets, churches, parks and other public spaces to strengthen the efforts in the fight against the spread of coronavirus, he said that with necessary support, he can mass-produce the pedal-operated machine and even upgrade the standard.

The young innovative Izuchukwu Nkwogbo who is the Chief of Executive Officer (Izujay Fabrication & Logistics Nig. LTD, revealed that he donated one of his Automated Hand Washing Machine to the palace of Igwe Nnewi, His Royal Highness, Igwe Dr. Kenneth O.N Orizu (III) for the use of visitors coming to the palace.
