Coronavirus: See The Number Of People That Have Died Of COVID-19 Worldwide

The coronavirus pandemic has killed at least 307,321 people worldwide since its appearance in December in China, according to a report established by AFP from official sources on Saturday at 7 a.m.

More than 4,549,100 cases of infection have been officially diagnosed in 196 countries and territories since the start of the coronavirus. This number of diagnosed cases, however, only reflects a fraction of the actual number of coronavirus infections, with a large number of countries only testing cases requiring hospital care. Among these cases, at least 1,602,400 are now considered cured.

The United States, which recorded its first death linked to the coronavirus in early February, is the country most affected in terms of the number of deaths and cases, with 87,568 deaths for 1,443,397 cases. At least 250,747 people have been declared cured of coronavirus.

After the United States, the most affected countries are the United Kingdom with 33,998 deaths for 236,711 cases, Italy with 31,610 deaths (223,885 cases), Spain with 27,563 deaths (230,698 cases), and France with 27,529 dead (178,870 cases on Thursday, the authorities did not provide a full assessment on Friday).

China (excluding the territories of Hong Kong and Macao), where the coronavirus began in late December, officially counted a total of 82,941 cases (8 new between Friday and Saturday), including 4,633 deaths (0 new), and 78,219 healings.

Europe totalled Saturday at 7 h 164, 536 deaths for 1 860 927 coronavirus cases, the United States and Canada 93 210 deaths (1 517 930 cases), Latin America and the Caribbean 26 945 deaths (476 349 cases), Asia 11,872 deaths (343,283 cases), the Middle East 8,018 deaths (264,535 cases), Africa 2,614 deaths (77,700 cases), and Oceania 126 deaths (8,381 cases).
