The Lagos State government has advanced reasons why the state continues to record more coronavirus cases than Kano State.
Prof Akin Abayomi, the Lagos State Commissioner for health disclosed Lagos has more testing capacity and is testing more samples when compared with Kano State.
Abayomi said Lagos State has “increased testing capacity, whereas Kano has only one testing centre” which became functional recently.
He added that more cases will be diagnosed when more tests are carried out, noting that the state is yet to reach its peak of COVID-19 cases.
“More cases are diagnosed when increased testing is carried out,” Abayomi noted.
Anaedoonline.com recalls the NCDC on Thursday, confirmed three hundred and thirty-nine new cases of Coronavirus in Nigeria.
The agency in a post on their official Twitter account confirmed the new cases bringing the total number of confirmed cases in Nigeria to 7016.

Meanwhile, 1907 patients have been discharged, while 211 deaths have been recorded in the country.
339 new cases of Coronavirus have just been recorded across several states of Nigeria today.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC made this announcement this evening via Twitter, outlining Lagos with the highest number per state.
