The only constant thing in life is change. Little wonder Charles Darwin, one of the greatest biologists that lived said, ” it is not the most intelligent specie or the strongest species that survives, but the one that is adaptive to change”.

Changes have been occurring at different phases in our world. For eg, Alvin Toffler in his book, “The Third Wave” said the world has existed in three stages namely;

Agrarian Age- from *8000BC to 1700AD*
Industrial Age- from *1700AD to 1955AD*
Technological Age- from *1955AD to Present*

The technological Age- is now called the information age, some call it the digital age.

These currents of changes have also occurred in our developmental phase as a Nation. There are different generations that have existed in our Nation.

1. The founders’ generation: These are the generation that existed before 1914. They existed before the creation of our country Nigeria, they existed before the amalgamation of the Northern and Southern protectorate.

2. The generation of emancipation. These generation were born between 1914- 1950. When Nigeria came into being in 1914 as a creation of the British government, it was seen as an artificial creation involving such widely different groups of people. There were doubts as to whether Nigeria can survive as a sovereign federation. But the increased influence by the British colonial master on Nigeria provoked their quest for freedom.

Nigerians started thinking of themselves much less as members of distinct ethnic groups but as citizens of one political entity. The Nigerian Nationalist Movement was born. They started the cry for emancipation because that was the purpose of that generation. The generations of Tafawa Belewa, Nnamdi Azikiwe, Herbert Macaulay, Obafemi Awolowo, Anthony Enaholo, and many of other great Nationalist. That generation lived and fulfilled the purpose of their generation. Hence Nigeria was granted its Independence on October 1, 1960.

3. The golden generation. These generation were born between 1950-1980. They were also known as the discovery generation. The various activities of these generation revealed the true potentials and greatness of Nigeria. By their activities after we have gotten Independence and after the war, it came to the knowledge of the world that indeed Nigeria was blessed not just in Natural resources but both in human and intellect. This is the generation of the Fela Kuti, Soyinka, Chinua Achebe, Chike Obi.

4. The generation of transformation. These generation were born between 1980- Millennium. These are the generation born to do great things. They are the generation that will leapfrog Nigeria into the league of advanced Nation. They are the generation that will make the Nigerian economy a world-class economy. The entertainment sector such as Nollywood and the music industry has brought great transformation in their sectors. The media industry is still yet untapped The Information Technology is gradually waking up. But the most annoying part is that many in this generation are still sleeping. They are still under the table to take some crumbs leftover from the previous generation. The most important sector that will gear up every other sector is the political sector. Our generation is still sleeping and waiting for appointments as SSA’s and PA’s. And this is while our Nation has remained in the deep because the generation that will transform Nigeria is still asleep.

This is a wake-up call and time for us to deliver our nation from the bondage of all ages. It is time we mobilize ourselves and take over the political leadership of our dear country so as to lead this country into greatness. We’re starting this with Anambra State come 2021.

Anambra 2021 should be our starting point. I see a youth emerging the Governor. A digital youth governor that is abreast of the realities of our times.

I enjoin all the youth to join this movement in demanding for the election of young people in governance. This is the new order. We shall do great things. A New Nigeria Is Possible.
