Chelsea transfer target Chukwueze revealed that he was ‘crying all through the night’ following Chelsea’s Champions League final defeat to Manchester United back in 2008.

Chukwueze, 20, has scored eight goals in 52 games since breaking into Villarreal’s first-team two years ago and his eye-catching form has attracted interest from some of the Premier League’s top teams.

Liverpool were heavily linked with Chukwueze during the January transfer window and recent reports claim that current EPL champions Manchester City are also eyeing moves for the talented Nigerian winger.

Although Borussia Dortmund’s Jadon Sancho is Frank Lampard’s first choice, the Blues will move for Chukwueze if they fail to land the English attacker.

Manchester United are believed to be in prime position to sign Sancho, which might leave their Premier League rivals looking around for alternatives.

Sancho, 20, has two years left on his current deal with Dortmund and is valued at more than 110 million euros by the Bundesliga outfit.

Chukwueze in previous interviews, admitted he grew up supporting Chelsea, because of the presence of former Super Eagles captain, John Mikel Obi at the club.

The Nigerian is also on the radar of Chelsea’s Premier League rivals Arsenal, as well as clubs in Spain.

“I think Samu is very grateful to everything Villarreal has given him. He is very young and has much to improve, and he knows it,” he stated.

“It will be difficult for him to find a place where he is more comfortable and more familiar. that in a club like ours.
