Former PDP Governorship candidate and Current APC Governorship candidate in Edo State, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, has debunked reports that he has dropped out of the ruling party’s primary election.

In a statement by his spokesperson, John Mayaki, Ize-Iyamu said reports that he dropped out of the governorship is false.

Mayaki said: “We want to clarify to members of the public that the laughable report claiming that Pastor Osagie Ize Iyamu has dropped out of the APC governorship race and demanded a refund is completely false.

“It is a deliberate falsehood created and circulated by those who are afraid to confront him at the polls and are thus seeking ways to cause confusion and mislead the people.

“Pastor Osagie Ize Iyamu enjoys swelling support from party members across the 18 LGAs of the state. Therefore, he has no reason to quit the race.”

Meanwhile, Governor Godwin Obaseki has dismissed claims that he is nursing plans to dump the APC.

Obaseki dismissed the claim while addressing members of a meeting at the ‘Obaseki Mandate Group’ in Abuja, yesterday.

He maintained that he would win his second tenure on APC Platform while describing as untrue, claims that he plans to leave the APC if he doesn’t win the party’s ticket in the primaries scheduled to hold on June 22.

Obaseki further called for the support of people of the state with a proven track record in public service. He added that he was humbled by the kind gesture of supporters who paid for his forms.
