Among them is the President-General of Nnewi Youth Forum, Amb. Paul Muoneke (JP), who has called for the liberation of Nnewi from what he described as Self Slavery.
Speaking to Anaedoonline.com, Amb. Paul Muoneke warned against the activities of those who have decided to blackmail their way into putting their preferred candidate into the office of Chief Medical Director (CMD) of NAUTH.
The Youth President who is worried about the level of politicking that is playing out in who becomes the next CMD of NAUTH, said that competence and capacity of the candidate should be the primary criteria in choosing the next CMD of the hospital.
Speaking further, he frowned at the situation where some group of people are meeting stakeholders, lobbying for their preferred candidate against their own brother who appears more competent and qualified.
He opined that if competence should be the criteria, one of the contenders that is said to have great managerial skills and also has risen to the rank of a professor, should be considered for the top position.
He also flayed the current hospital management for their selfish recruitment process which sidelines indigenes of the hospital host community, especially the youths.
Amb. Paul Muoneke, however, urged stakeholders to support the candidate that is committed to moving the hospital to the permanent site in Umudim Nnewi, and taking the hospital to the next level.
