Abia warriors Appoint Amapakabo As A Head Coach

Nigeria Professional Football League club Abia Warriors have appointed Imama Amapakabo as their new head coach, Completesports.com reports.

“Abia Warriors and Coach Imama Amapakabo agree terms as new head coach ahead of the new season,” the club wrote

Amapakabo had coached Rivers United, Enugu Rangers and El Kanemi Warriors.

It was at Rangers Amapakabo had his finest moment as a coach, after guiding the Enugu-based club to win the 2016 NPFL title, their first championship since 1982.

The 50-year-old served as assistant to Super Eagles coach Gernot and was appointed head coach of the home-based Eagles and the U-23 Eagles.

He was a reserved goalkeeper of the Golden Eaglets squad that won the maiden edition of the FIFA U-16 World Cup in China in 1985.

in another story, Abia Warriors footbalĺ club of Umuahia has relieved Coach Emmanuel Deutcsh of his position as the Head Coach following recent poor performances in the on going Nigeria Professional Football League particularly after the team lost scandalously to Enyimba FC in the matchday 20 games played at the Okigwe Township stadium.

In a Press statement signed by the Club’s Secretary, Mr Esiaba Ebere, management said, losing three matches in a row, and conceding nine goals in the process does not portray the qualities of an ambitious team like Abia Warriors.

The statement directed the Cameroonian born gaffer to hand over the club properties in his possession to the Secretary and wished him the very best of luck in his future endeavour.

Meanwhile, the Chief Coach of the club, Willy Udube has been directed by the Management to take over the affairs of the team in interim capacity.

Enyimba Football Club produced a clinical performance to outclass Abia Warriors 4-1 in a thrilling Nigeria Professional Football League fixture at the Okigwe Stadium.
