Meet Maria and Lucy, the biracial twins born in the UK who have often been mistaken for friends instead of sisters because one was born black and the other was born white!!
The white girl has straight ginger hair with deep blue eyes while the other is black with brown eyes.
The girls were born with radically different colours because of their mixed-race parents, their dad is white while their mother is half Jamaican black.
Lucy and Maria Alymer were born in January of 1997 and today, they are both 23 years old as the mother was astonished when she saw her girls when they were born 23 years ago.

They’ve grown accustomed to being mistaken for friends and often go through so much hassle to explain themselves.
“No one ever believes we are twins because I am white and Maria is black,” Lucy explained. “Even when we dress alike, we still don’t even look like sisters, let alone twins.” As even friends make them prove birth certificates.
The girl’s mother did a double-take, of course, and was speechless when the midwife handed over her kids.
It must have been such a shock to the mother because obviously, things like skin colour don’t show up on scans before birth.
And not only that, even the girls’ personalities are nearly as different as their looks.
“Most twins look like two peas in a pod — but Maria and I couldn’t look more different if we tried. We don’t even look like we have the same parents, let alone having been born at the same time.”

Maria is more outgoing but Lucy is the shy one and Maria loves telling people at college that she has a white twin and Lucy is proud to have a black twin.
One of the great things about them is that they are both lovely, easy to identify, and has instilled in humans once again that all skin types can dwell together in peace, whether in or outside the womb.
They both have older siblings, 28-year-old George, 27-year-old Chynna and 26-year-old Jordan who look more like Maria.
