Residents of Mbanagu-Otolo Nnewi in Nnewi Local Government Area of Anambra State has raised alarm over a developing erosion which is threatening residential houses in the community.

Our correspondents who visited the erosion site located in MbanaguOtolo Nnewi behind Orizu Filling Station-Okigwe Express Road observed that if the usual heavy rainfall continues, two houses may cave into the developing gully.

Speaking to Anaedoonline.com, Mr. Ogbuchukwu Samuel, whose property is directly affected, revealed that he has spent hundreds of thousand in trying to check the erosion menace.

According to him, the erosion started after some part of the drainage channel at the back of his residence, collapsed due to water turbulence which comes from Ekwulumili, Amichi, Ndiakwu, and Azigbo.

Blaming the erosion on the flood water channelled into the community from other towns, Mr. Samuel lamented that the problem, which started years ago, maybe more devastating in the coming days if nothing is done about it.
