The last has not been heard about the fight of who controls the business empire of Late Nkwo Nnewi Billionaire Businessman, Chief Pius Ogbuawa.
It will be recalled that last week, Anaedonline.ng reported the publication made by the sons of Chief Ogbuawa, Uchenna and Onyedika, who accused the third wife of his Father, Mrs Amaka Ogbuawa of conniving with two top Nnewi-based businessmen, Nonso Ukatu (NONSEC) and Augustine Jideofor (AUSTIN-MANUEL) to hijack the business empire of the Late President of Super Yoko Motorcycle Spare Parts, Chief Pius Ogbuawa.
However, in a statement, late last week, titled: “A Retraction and Apology,” signed by Ogbuawa’s second son, Onyedikachi, who is also a Director in Ogbuawa and Sons Ltd, he withdrew their earlier publication, noting that they were misled in making the publication which according to them, damaged the reputation of Nonso Ukatu (NONSEC) and Augustine Jideofor (AUSTIN-MANUEL).
Speaking to Anaedonline.ng, on the whole hullabaloo, Mr. Augustine Jideofor(Popularly known as Austine Manuel), washed his hands clean of all the allegations, saying that he has accepted the apology issued by Onyedika Ogbuawa.
On his involvement, Mr. Augustine, who is the President of Nnewi Importers Association, said that he was invited by one Nnewi Billionaire Businessmen during a conflict resolution meeting of the Ogbuawa’s, where the billionaire advised the Ogbuawas to put on hold on the issues surrounding the management of Ogbuawa and Son’s Limited, till after the burial of their father.
He said, “Amaka and the two son’s of Ogbuawa agreed that the business premises of Ogbuawa should be opened to enable them to make some sells, to raise money for the burial of Chief Ogbuawa, which will be paid to a joint account, the trio will be signatories to, which goes to show that late Ogbuawa appears not to have any savings”
“From what I understand from the meeting after the burial money was raised, both Onyedika and Uchenna refused to close down the shop, despite the fact that most of the goods in the shop were bought on credit from one Chinese based manufacturer, Fang du, Ogbuawa’s wife insisted that the shop should be closed to ensure that after the burial, the remaining goods will be sold and payment made to Fang du, so that the business relationship with the Chinese man continues”
Speaking further, he said, “Few days after the meeting, the duo of Uchenna and Onyedika, visited me in my house with a cartoon of wine, they said that they were not happy with the decision reached the billionaire man’s house, that they want the shop to remain open and also inform me that Nonso Ukatu (NONSEC) who is the agent of Fang du is disturbing them about the debt owned to Fang du, they also told that they have confirmed from the documents available that their Father is owing Fang du, nothing that they should give time to complete the payment. They said that they want Amaka to hands-off from the business”
“To ensure fairness and resolution of the crisis, I told them to give me Amaka’s number to enable me to invite her to the next meeting”
“During the next meeting, Nonso Ukatu narrated his own side of the story, according to him, the Late Chief Ogbuawa and the wife, Amaka, knew that he was the agent of Fang du, and they have been remitting money to him as the representative of Fang du, as such, he doesn’t know Onyedika and Uchenna, he expressed that goods were sold below the selling price and no money is remitted, right there, Amaka revealed that he got an information that Uchenna and Onyedika opened another bank account in Zenith bank without her consent, instead of the access bank which they all agreed to monitor”
“Despite our efforts in trying to help the two boys, Uchenna and Onyedika went to court to get an order restraining the market leadership from closing Ogwuawa’s shop”
“During the subsequent meeting, we resolved that they will invite a Lawyer who will put up an agreement, on how the money will be paid, as any money made through sales will be paid to Fang du”
“I advised them to pay the money in Zenith Bank to Fang du, but they refused, to save the situation, Amaka went and got a court order stopping the duo from making withdrawals from the Zenita Bank account”
“The point is that both Uchenna and Onyedika do not understand this business, imagine that in his 40s, Uchenna is not married and is not stable financially despite the millions of Naira, his father gave to him to start up a business”
On the allegation that he was in a sexual relationship with Amaka, Mr. Austin said that the stories were cooked up by Uchenna, he revealed that he has never met Amaka neither does he knows the house of Ogbuawa in Nnewi. He said that he has written to Uchenna and Onyedika to retract the publication and issue a public apology. He confirmed that Onyedika has made the publication and apology.
