Fani Kayode And The Sadaukin Shinkafi Title

Since the news of the conferment of “Sadaukin Shinkafi” traditional tittle on former Aviation Minister, Femi Fani Kayode broke out, it seemed unbelievable. This news raised eyebrows and caused quite a disquiet in many circles. One would imagine how Shinkafi Emirate will dare to confer such honarable and revered title on a known Northern foe like Fani Kayode.

This makes many people hold different views with regards to the conferment of the title to the man who is a popularly known as pro-igbo symoathiser to get such a title from an Emirate which was established by the Sheikh Usman bin Fodiyo, an Islamic crusader in Nigeria and by extension in Africa in which the person of Fani Kayode so much loathes.

Danfodio was the person who spread the word of Islam and defeated several Emirates of jahiliyya and established Islamic Emirates after conquering those who refused to accept the word of Islam. These Emirates are: Sokoto, Gwandu,Zamfara, Katsina,Zazzau, Kano and Bauchi among others.

Femi Fani Kayode whose posts on social media come across as irritating to many of the northerners over incessant hate speech about the North and his open show of contempt to the late Khalifa, Sheikh Usman bin Fodiyo have left many to wonder why such great title will be bestowed on the sworn enemy of our people, culture, religion and even to our forefathers in the North.

Come to think of it, what contribution has he made to the Northern people apart from ceaselessly maligning and vilifying our people and their religion?

This is singular act by the Emir of Shinkafi, Alhaji Muhammad Makwashe has brought dishonour to the the throne and also contravenes the law of giving a title to only persons who contributed towards the development of people in the region?

Consequently, a lot of title holders reesigned with some giving a twenty-four hour ultimatum to the Emir to swiftly revoke the Sadaukin Shinkafi title bestowed on the former minister of aviation. Some of those that resigned include the Hon. Bilyaminu Yusuf as Sardaunan Shinkafi, Alhaji Umar Bala Ajiya as Dan majen Shinkafi and Hajiya Hadiza Abdul’aziz Abubakar Yari as Iyar Shinkafi.

Followers of Femi Fani Kayode’s post will give testimony to how he constantly attacks the identity of Northern people with extreme hate speech which can incite endless conflict in the country.

Looking at the Rwandan genocide is a good example of how such speech could incite violence and led to the killing of one another as it happened with the two tribes both Tutsis and Hutus where several people were massacred and killed due to hate speeches by radio houses.

He, Femi Fani Kayode once called out Northerners and claimed that he never eats cow meat again where he ignorantly and in deep enmity to Northerners said that “I stopped eating meat cow when I learnt that the headers have sex with cows before they are sold and slaughtered for their meat” and it comes to the fore that he once said that “miyetti Allah has withdrawn an earlier apology for slaughtering the people of Benue State, and they’re now claiming that Benue State is their ancestral land.

They forgot that their father Usman danfodio was killed in the battle whilst trying to conquer the tribe of Benue state and steal their land” he doesn’t have even a paucity of respect to the most revere and respectful scholar not only in Nigeria but also in every country in Africa which has a single Muslim faith.

Notwithstanding, the Governor of Zamfara State refused to heed the various protesrs and went ahead to host him in Zamfara State for 7days to celebrate the turban ceremony after which they paid homage to Aminu waziri Tambuwal, Governor of Sokoto State.

Surprisingly, the Sadaukin Shinkafi today posted on his timeline in a long write up which he said “I love the people of the core north as much as I love the people of south east, south south, south west and middle belt.

Contrary to the expectation of many Sokoto is actually a very peaceful and beautiful ancient town and all those I met there treated me with love and respect”.

No one would have even dreamt that a sworn enemy to the Northerners will say such a nice and lovely words of them.

Henceforth, we are hoping for a good relationship which will unite the entire people of this country regardless of tribe, religion, culture and race to be united only for the purpose of being humans and for the sake of humanity.
