The Sector Commander Federal Road Safety Corps Anambra State, CC Andrew A. Kumapayi, on Wednesday,29th July, 2020 received in audience the newly elected Executives of the Nigeria Medical Association (NMA), Anambra State Branch headed by the Chairman elect, Dr.Jide Onyekwelu, in his office, in Awka.
Chairman of the Association, Dr. Jide Onyekwelu, explained that the visit was to foster stronger collaboration during emergency life saving operations.and campaign against distracted driving, CADD.
The Association also sought for special number plates to be issued to doctors, for ease of identification as part of campaign against quackery, to ensure that only recognized doctor’s stamp are seen on all medical reports the FRSC may need.
They sought also for Joint training on basic life support and activities of Special Marshals, to ensure that FRSC operatives are further equipped with knowledge of crash victims handling, Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
The Sector Commander Kumapayi, appreciated the visit and assured them that the Command will continue to partner with the Association.
He also assured the doctors that FRSC would participate and support them in all their life saving campaigns and also collaborate with them on the issue of quackery, with regards to fake medical reports.
