2021: Former Anambra Deputy Speaker Denies Governorship Ambition

The Transition Committee Chairman of Nnewi North Local Government, Rt. Hon. Engr. Prince Chukwudi Orizu, has refuted reports that he has thrown his hat into the ring for the 2021 Anambra Governorship race.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, Hon. Chukwudi who is also the son of Igwe Nnewi, His Royal Highness, Igwe Kenneth Orizu, categorically stated he has never had discussions with anyone in which he expressed, let alone sought support for a Governorship aspiration.

He noted that any publication linking him was borne out of mischief and as such, should not be taken seriously.

“I have remained a stakeholder in APGA since 2010 and I have played a very high premium on Loyalty to my party and to all the Governors that my party has given Ndi Anambra”

the middle of an underserved and unsought controversy, noting that as Chairman of Nnewi North Local Government Area, he takes his responsibilities seriously and will not need the distraction by publications of mischievous people.

He revealed that the process to select candidates for the forthcoming Governorship elections in Anambra state is for the Governor, His Excellency Chief Dr. Willie Obiano, the National Chairman, APGA Board of Trustees, NWC and APGA hierarchy.
