Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State has stated that Nigerians at this time needed to work together to address challenges currently confronting the country.

Ortom said this while responding to insinuations that he is planning to back out from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) camp to join the Nigeria ruling party, the All Progressive Congress (APC).

The governor in a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Terver Akase, refuted the claims, noting that it became necessary owing to a recent statement from the Benue State Chairman of APC, Comrade Abba Yaro, which suggested that Governor Ortom will soon be dumped the Umbrella camp to return to the Umbrella Camp.

“It is pertinent to state categorically that Governor Ortom is not contemplating leaving PDP for whatever reason,” Akase noted.

The CPS added, “Ortom believes that the political, economic and security challenges currently facing the country cannot merely be solved by people decamping from one political party to another. He says what is most important at this point is for Nigerians of all walks of life to join hands and surmount the challenges confronting the nation,”

Governor Ortom again boasted of his commitment to ensuring he attained development milestones for the people of Benue State under the PDP camp, providing good governance to all parts of the state.
