Nigerian Journalist, Agba Jalingo Arrested Again

The publisher of Crossriver Watch, Agba Jalingo and 18 others participating in the #RevolutionNow protest in Ikeja, Lagos has been arrested by men of the Nigerian Police Force.

Witnesses say they were protesting at Ikeja under bridge in Lagos when the Police swooped in and effected a mass arrest after firing teargas canisters.

The #RevolutionNow protest is ongoing nationwide and is convened by Sahara Reporters founder, Omoyele Sowore.

They are protesting against repression and demanding for better welfare for the Nigerian population.

Still in a related Agba story, the publisher of Cross River Watch, Agba Jalingo, has been released from prison custody after meeting his bail conditions.

Jalingo was first arrested by the police in August 2019 on the orders of the Ben Ayade-led Cross River State Government.

He was subsequently arraigned for treason and attempting to overthrow the state government due to the highly critical articles he published.
