Last month the Chairman Medical Advisory Committee (CMAC) of the Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital Nnewi Dr. Joseph Ugboaja tied the knot with his sweetheart, Mrs. Ezinne Ugboaja in a quiet wedding ceremony witnessed by close friends and family.

Dr. Joe as he is fondly called is known for his dedication to work which makes him put extra hours daily to meet targets.

His marriage to Ezinne got tongues wagging, wondering if he will cut down the time he spends at work to be with his beautiful wife.

At an over-lunch discussion, Dr. Ugboaja revealed that his marriage gives him the motivation to double his effort in the office. He also confessed that balancing marriage and work is not an easy task, however, he has found a way to navigate it.

“Marriage is exciting and sweet but balancing occurs naturally. I gradually noticed that I no longer take plenty of work back home because I won’t be able to do them; I look forward to going home early and little stuff like that and I even have the motivation to put in more at the office. Even when it becomes too stressful at the office, I am calm because I know I will soon go home to relax and have fun with my wife. It has been exciting”.

He advised married couples to separate work from home and make out time for family because, in the end, the family is the most important unit that makes up the society.
