Femi Fani-Kayode, a former Minister of Aviation, has called on the Muhammadu Buhari-led federal government to investigate the Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC) a group headed by Prof. Ishaq Akintola.

Anaedoonline.ng reports that a former intelligence chief in Mali had accused MURIC of receiving $200,000 from the Islamic States In West Africa Province (ISWAP) for the recruitment of new fighters for the terrorist group.

But MURIC in a statement by its Director, Ishaq Akintola, on Tuesday, denied any links to ISWAP.

Fani-Kayode wrote: “The allegation by a former Head of Intelligence in Mali that the Ishaq Akintola-led MURIC is funded by ISWAP is grave.

I call on the federal government to investigate this matter and if proved to be true, declare MURIC a terrorist organization, ban it, prosecute its leaders and if found guilty, hang them.
