Humblesmith was born on May 14 1991 as Ekenedilichukwu Ijemba into a Catholic family in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State. The singer is from Uruala, a town in Ideato North local government area of Imo State. His interest in the entertainment industry started when he was a child. During his secondary school education, he started dancing and was part of a group called American Boys before he soon departed Ebonyi State for Asaba City, t in order to pursue a career in music.
Career
Humblesmith faced many difficulties and hustled in obscurity before finding fame. When he moved to Asaba, he did all manner of menial jobs in order to put food on his table. Luckily for his, he got a role in an Asaba movie titled Hypertension with Sam Loco Efe. Humblesmith appeared in other movies, mostly in a minor role or daybreaker.
The roles were not coming and he must have noticed that his chances of making it in the movie industry was slim, he returned to Ebonyi State, his birth state and later back to Delta State. He activated his music career and started performing for free and was signed by DG Records who were impressed with one of his several performances. In 2012, he moved to Lagos State and recorded his debut single “Chairmoo” in 2014. In 2015, he released “Osinachi, a chart-topping single that featured Phyno; and Davido in the remix version.
The song earned him a nomination spot in the “Best New Act” category at the 2016 edition of the Nigeria Entertainment Awards and was also nominated in the “Hottest Single” category at the same event. He also featured Flavour N’abania in a song titled “Jukwese”. Humblesmith has also released songs featuring Olamide and Paul of PSquare (Rudeboy).
