Rt. Hon. Acho Ihim (Onwa Okigwe) has submitted his nomination for Okigwe Senate ahead of INEC deadline.
The former speaker of Imo State House of Assembly, who is favoured by all odds to emerge as the consensus candidate of the Imo State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress APC performed the task in Abuja today.
A social media post by the Chairman of his Amazing Grace Campaign Council, Hon. Irouno Chukwunonye reads, “Completed forms duly submitted at the party Secretariat where the State Organizing Secretary stands by to receive aspirants to the National Organising Secretary’s Office in Abuja”
Having been on sensitization around the six local government areas of Imo North Senatorial District, Rt. Hon. Ihim who hails from Okigwe LGA has been tipped as the first senator from the LGA, owing to his wealth of experience in legislation, relationship with the state governor and as the people of Okigwe LGA fight for equity in the zone.

One of his followers from Isiala Mbano, Mr. Uche Njoku described him as a unifying factor, saying that “Rt. Hon. Acho Ihim is really the Onwa Okigwe he is referred to as. People of Okigwe LGA deserve that seat and he is the perfect man for the job, being favoured by odds of experience, equity, youthfulness, proactiveness, ability to attract projects and everything you will be needing from a lawmaker”
Recent news has it that after his submission of nomination another candidate Frank Ibezim was declared the consensus candidate for the APC instead.
