Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State has inaugurated the recently constituted six-man Administrative Panel of Inquiry into Ugwuaji land dispute in Enugu South Local Government Area of the state. Inaugurating the panel, which is being chaired by Chief James Ikeyi, SAN, Gov. Ugwuanyi, who was represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Simon Uchenna Ortuanya, stated that the decision was in keeping with the unflinching commitment of the state government to sustain the enduring peace in the state for political and socio-economic development to continue to thrive.

The Federal Government has given the nod for the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) to begin preparations for reopening of orientation camps nationwide. Orientation camps were shut in March as part of measures to curb the spread of COVID-19. National Coordinator of the Presidential Taskforce on COVID-19, Dr Sani Aliyu: “For the National Youth Service Corps, the NYSC is to consolidate on safety measures currently being put in place and start preparing for the reopening of orientation camps when educational institutions open.

Minister of Labour and Employment, Senator Dr Chris Ngige, berated Prince Arthur Eze, for casting aspersions on him over his advice that the 12 traditional rulers suspended by the Anambra State Government, should be relocated from their communities to avert breach of peace. Ngige described Prince Eze as ‘a fair-weather politician’ who befriends “any government in power,” and uses his wealth to intimidate, oppress and brutalise the downtrodden people in Anambra State communities, bordering his Ukpo hometown in his land-grabbing spree”.
