The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has said it will release the results of the just concluded West African Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) within 45 days. The examination ended on Saturday nationwide and in other four West African member countries of WAEC – Ghana, Liberia, Sierra Leone and Gambia. A total of 1,459,463 students sat for the exams in Nigeria.

Bandits suspected to be kidnappers have abducted 16 farmers, including children and women at Uduwa Village along the Kaduna-Birnin Gwari highway in Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State. Those abducted were going to farm when the incident occurred on Saturday at about 7am. It was also gathered four of the victims who sustained gunshots injuries during the attack were abandoned while the gunmen went away with 16 people who are members of the same family.
