Barcelona fans may not be able to see Lionel Messi against big rivals Real Madrid in the first El Clasico of the season if the superstar should play for Argentina in World Cup qualifiers.

Playing for Argentina means that Lionel Messi will have to travel from Spain to honor his nation, and when he return, he will have to go in 14-day isolation.

Argentina will be facing Ecuador on October 8 and Bolivia five days later in their quest to appear in the FIFA 2022 World Cup.

He would miss matches against Getafe and Alaves and crucially the huge fixture against fierce rivals Real Madrid.

Argentina will be keen for their talisman to be leading their attack for these matches although new Barcelona boss Koeman will be reluctant for him to miss La Liga games.

Lionel has won everything with Barcelona where he has been playing for the past sixteen years and only the World Cup title is missing in his cabinet.

He tried to help his nation when they appeared at the Russia 2018 edition in which they luckily beat Nigeria to reach the knockout stages.

Sadly for Argentina, they suffered a defeat against France who went ahead to win the World Cup title beating Croatia in the final.

After crashing out of the 2018 World Cup, Lionel Messi excused himself from playing for Argentina before he later made a return.

Anaedoonline.ng reported that Lionel Messi won legal battle with Spanish cycling brand Massi and the Barcelona legend is now free to trademark his surname following the latest development.

The Barcelona captain first tried to trademark his surname in the year 2011, but he was unable to get the breakthrough due to legal battle.

Owners of the Cycling brand Massi tendered in court that what Lionel Messi wanted to do would bring confusion to customers.

Massi was initially successful in challenging the application after a complaint was upheld in 2013, but they lost in a ruling at the EU’s General Court two years ago.
