Chairman of the Edo State governorship election National Campaign Council, Governor Nyesom Wike has said he disagrees with Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu over his comments about the Edo State Governor Godwin Obaseki, not being a democrat. Wike said despite his respect for the Leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Tinubu cannot determine if Edo State Governor Godwin Obaseki is a democrat or not.

The Director-General, National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), AVM Muhammad Mohammed (rtd) on Wednesday, said over 900 houses were destroyed by flood in 13 out of the 14 Local Government Areas of Zamfara. Mohammed also said a 7-year-old boy died as a result of flooding in Gummi Local Government Area of the state.

 

The long wait for the rehabilitation of Nigeria’s ailing refineries may soon end, if the promise of the Group Managing Director of Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, Mr. Mele Kyari, is anything to go by. Kyari had stated that the nation’s four refineries, with a combined capacity of 445,000 barrels per day, are set for major rehabilitation.

 

President Muhammadu Buhari has signed into law the Nigeria Police Bill, 2020. President Buhari in a memo dated September 16, 2020, communicated his assent to the Bill to the National Assembly, through the Clerk of the legislature. A statement issued by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Chief Femi Adesina explained that the Act repealed the Police Act Cap. P19.

The protracted leadership tussle in the Nanka community of Orumba North Local Government Area of Anambra State has escalated, with one of the seven villages in the community; Amakor, rejecting the claims by its traditional ruler, Igwe Godwin Ezeilo that peace has finally returned.
