Governor of Delta State Ifeanyi Okowa, has commended the Ind ependent National Electoral Commission, INEC, for the successful conduct of the Edo State governorship election. INEC’s Returning Officer in Edo State declared Godwin Obaseki of the Peoples Democratic Party, winner of the election after polling 307,955 votes.

Godwin Obaseki, the Governor of Edo State has described his victory in the 2020 governorship election in the state as a victory over godfatherism. Obaseki made the statement on Sunday after he was declared the winner of Saturday’s governorship election in Edo State by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Emir of Zaria, Alhaji Shehu Idris is dead. Former Kaduna lawmaker, Shehu Sani confirmed his death on his Twitter page. Sani expressed shock at the passing of Emir Idris, describing him as a titan of peace and bridge between religion.
