Thiago Alcantara’s second half multiple strings of passes in Liverpool’s 2-0 over Chelsea has broken a Premier League record.
The Spanish midfielder who recently completed a switch from Bayern Munich on Friday, September 18, needed just 45 minutes to complete 75 passes two days after his signing.

It is also the most successful passes completed by any player with a maximum of 45 minutes in the Premier League since records began in the 2003-04 season.

And the Senegalese striker scored both goals including a defensive blunder from Kepa Arrizabalaga that gave Jurgen Klopp’s men their second win of the season.
Alcantara’s second half introduction gave the Reds stability in the midfield as they took control of game and he recorded more passes than any other Chelsea player.
The 29-year-old’s stats were soon shared on Twitter, and Liverpool fans were full of praises were of their new signing. “Scary to think what’s to come,” one supporter said.
Another commented: “God he is so good.” While a third gave the midfielder a new title, with: “Already the best passer in the league.” And a fourth simply added: “What a signing.“
