He has been alleged to have offered former FIFA secretary general, Jerome Valcke the use of his house in Italy to lobby for TV right for the 2026 and 2030 World Cup tournaments.
A Swiss Federal Criminal Court was told that beIN Media Group was awarded the rights in the Middle East and Africa, without going through due process.
Al-Khelaifi who is also the chairman of the Qatari broadcast group insisted they paid full market value for the rights.
Court proceedings claimed Valcke requested help in buying the Italian house during the negotiations between FIFA and beIN group.
PSG’s president bought the villa for €5million and Valcke gained access to it through his brother’s associate. It is understood that Valcke avoided about worth £1.66million.
If Al-Khelaifi is found guilty, he will be sentenced to 28 years in jail and prosecutors have also asked for three-year imprisonment for Valcke.
Both Al-Khelaifi and Valcke have denied the charges against them and the case is still in court until the judge decides to release the verdict.
