The widow, Mrs Eberechukwu Igwilo, a mother of five (5) lost most of her properties through a devastating fire that gutted her house which affected a major part of the house.
Speaking further, the young lawmaker revealed that after his visit to the scene of the incidence, he noticed that most part of the house, including the kitchen, the toilet and bath was in a dilapidated state.
Moved to pity, Hon. Nonso Okafor said that he immediately embarked on the total renovation of the house. He started by rere-roofing the greater part of the house, installed new windows and doors, rewired the entire compound, tiled the house, re-roofed the kitchen, built a modern toilet and bath, painted the entire house, the kitchen, the toilet and bath, including the purchasing of a set of cushion chairs and a centre table, curtains, flat-screen LED TV and GOTV with a year subscription.
During the brief ceremony, the active legislator who has so far built and is building a lot of projects in his constituency, called the widow who lost her husband in 2011, and gave her cheque of One Hundred Thousand Naira to change her business of roasting corn.
While receiving the cheque, the elated widow, who could not hide her tears, thanked the lawmaker for what she described as undeserved gesture, saying that she is dumbfounded and cannot express her feelings.
On his own part, the Chairman of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) Otolo Ward 3, Barr. Donatus Ndekeli, while expressing his gratitude to the lawmaker, said that he is not surprised by the performance of Hon. Nonso Smart Okafor, noting that he is the best state lawmaker the town has produced so far.
The event which was a brief one was attended by residents of Umuzu Mbana Otolo Community.

Nonso Smart Okafor, said that he was moved to build the house when he received a distress call from one of his constituents who informed him about the devastating effect of the fire that gutted the house of the poor widow.
