The Elephants of Cote d’Ivoire have pulled out of a friendly with Nigeria, which was scheduled to be played next month.

The Super Eagles were to face the Ivorians and Tunisia’s Carthage Eagles within four days in Austria, in preparation for their Africa Cup of Nations double header against Sierra Leone in November.

However, their fellow West Africans have now withdrawn, due to “internal problems”.

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) said on Friday: “The Federation Ivorienne de Football, on September 22, sent to the NFF a letter regretting their inability to send a team to Austria for the game as earlier agreed, citing “internal problems”.
