Tottenham Hotspur boss Jose Mourinho has lashed back at Ole Gunnar Solskjaer for making a joke about the goal post after Manchester United narrowly defeated Brighton & Hove Albion.
The Red Devils needed a 100th-minute goal from the penalty spot to clinch their first win of the season having started their campaign on a bad note.
They suffered a disappointing 3-1 defeat to Crystal Palace at Old Trafford. However, they are able to surmount the pressure by their hosts at the AMEX Stadium to claim maximum victory in the end.
When you have a go at Jose Mourinho, you better be prepared for a nasty comeback 🤣 🔥

“You have to be happy Jose is not here to measure the goalposts!”
Meanwhile, Spurs had to settle for a 1-1 draw against Newcastle United in their third game of the 2020-21 season.
And the North Londoners have only secured one win so far, with the other two encounters ending in a draw and a loss. During his post-match conference, the 57-year-old threw a jibe back at his successor at United after his surprising 100th-minute victory.
🗣 "For him, the dimensions of the goalposts are not important, for him what is important is the dimensions of the 18-yard box, he would prefer a 22-yard box”⁰

“No, because I know the goalposts are fine. I think Ole yesterday was so happy and surprised with what happened to his team that he had a joke.

“But I understand for him the dimensions of the goalposts are not important. For him, what is important, is the dimensions of the 18-yard box.
“He would never accept to play with a 17-yard box, I think he would prefer a 22-yard box! For him, it would be better.”
Two months ago, Mourinho says Bruno Fernandes has been able to prove his penalty-taking ability because his team has been awarded so many.
Mourinho told Record: “Bruno came in, was fit, played very well, improved the United team and also proved to be a great penalty taker, one of the best in the world, because he had about 20 to score.”
Tottenham will face Chelsea in their next EFL Cup game on Tuesday, before travelling to Old Trafford for another Premier League cracker.
