Manchester United boss, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, has said their 6-1 loss to Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday, was his worst day ever at the club.

United have now lost both home fixtures in the Premier League this season, conceding nine goals in the process.

What made the defeat to Spurs all the more painful for Solskjaer, was that he lost to his predecessor, Jose Mourinho.

Solskjaer, played for the Red Devils from 1996 to 2007 and has been manager since 2018, said he has not had a day as bad as Sunday.

“It’s a horrible feeling, the worst day I’ve had as a Manchester United manager and player.

“You don’t win games of football by making individual mistakes, errors, making a performance like that,” the Norwegian told Sky Sports.

Manchester United midfielder, Scott McTominay, has revealed everyone in the dressing room was “very hurt” and vowed that “something will be done”, after losing 6-1 to Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.

The Red Devils took the lead through a Bruno Fernandes penalty in the first minutes of the game. However, Spurs hit back at Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men, scoring six times.

United are yet to win at Old Trafford this season and are 16th on the table heading into the international break.

“You get these shock results that come around, hopefully never again in your career,” McTominay told MUTV. “Everybody in that dressing room I can assure you is very, very hurt.

“This football club is absolutely massive and for us to play and perform like that is nowhere near good enough. Believe me, something will be done about that when we get back.”.
