Manchester United boss, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, named captain, Harry Maguire, as the player that led his team to defeat Newcastle United 4-1 in the Premier League on Saturday night.
Solskjaer said that Maguire was inspirational during the match against Newcastle, adding that the defender leads by example.
Maguire, who has endured a difficult start to the Premier League season, scored to help Man United clinch an emphatic victory at St James’ Park.
Bruno Fernandes, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Marcus Rashford also scored for the Red Devils.
“Of course the last result [a 6-1 defeat to Tottenham] made [today] even bigger,” Solskjaer told a pre-match press conference after the game.
“I thought we showed great resilience and great character to come back. I thought we handled that setback really well and were led by a very inspirational captain.”
