Man Utd, Liverpool Other Clubs To Join FIFA’s European Premier League

Premier League giants Liverpool and Manchester United are reportedly planning to be a part of the new FIFA initiative.

Both clubs might be thinking of joining other top European outfits for the European Premier League scheduled to kick off in 2022.

The world football governing body already has about $6 billion [£4.6 billion] fund to start up the project two years from now.

Sky Sports further reports that clubs from the top five European Leagues [England, France, Germany, Italy, Spain] are negotiating to be among the founding members.

The new competitions will comprise 18 teams and it will take place during regular seasons but during the week. Reports further stated that the teams who finish at the top of the table will then take part in a knockout tournament to determine the winner.

Meanwhile, one of the traditional ‘Big Six’ Premier League team is expected to miss out as just five clubs from England will have a chance to participate at the moment.
