Khabib who stepped into the Octagon for the first time since he lost his father earlier in the year announced his retirement after the fight.
Ronaldo predicted a win for Khabib congratulated the Russian fighter on his Twitter handle and said:
“Congrats bro! Your father is proud of you.” Khabib’s biggest rival at the lightweight division Conor McGregor also extended a hand of friendship on his tweet: “Good performance @TeamKhabib.

Undefeated light heavyweight champion Jon Jones also congratulated the Dagestan born fighter: “I want to congratulate Khabib for an outstanding career.
