Mason Greenwood and Marcus Rashford’s hat-trick, as well as Anthony Martial’s penalty, was all the Red Devils needed to continue their 100 per cent record in this season’s Champions League game.
Both sides started the game with so much tactical discipline but United got their noses in front in the 21st minute after Paul Pogba provided the needed assist for Greenwood to score his side’s first.
It had to be checked on the VAR to confirm if the teenager was not in an offside position as the goal was given.
Rashford was called upon in the second half for Donny van de Beek in the 68th minute and it took the Englishman less than six minutes to make an instant impact.
The 22-year-old beat the offside trap courtesy of a through ball from Bruno Fernandes and he made no mistake to make it 2-0 in the 74th minute.
Rashford added the second four minutes later as Martial won a penalty and converted the spot-kick himself to make it 4-0.
Rashford completed his first hat-trick for the Red Devils in style as he put the icy on the cake for Solskjaer’s side to end the game by 5-0.
