The US based Nigerian model and motivational speaker, Kechi Okwuchi, who rose to fame after she featured and finished as a finalist in the twelfth season of America’s Got Talent in 2017 as a singer has taken to her twitter handle to celebrate her 31st Birthday today.
“I’m 31 today and I’m so thankful to God for health and for loved ones to celebrate this day with. I’m thankful for all of you too for adding meaning to my life in ways I never expected. Happy birthday to me” she twitted.
Kechi was one of the two survivors in the Sosoliso Airlines Flight 1145 crash on 10 December, 2005 that claimed 107 lives, of which 59 were her school mates from Loyola Jesuit College, Abuja. She received third degree burns over 65% of her body and was given a 30% chance of survival.
Kechi also participated in America’s Got Talent: The Champions in 2019, where Simon Cowell gave her the golden buzzer that sent her straight to the final, though she did not make it to the top 5.
